Set time aside for any amount of time to go outside, if possible, and look at the sky. You can do this at any time, or set aside some intentional time around the sunrise, sunset, night sky, a storm, or a specific time of day.

Set a time for at least 30 minutes and sit or lay down with the pure intention of watching the sky. Connect to the colors, the movement of the clouds or heavenly bodies. Notice the changes that occur within this window fo time. Notice the interactions of other living things in this space- birds that fly across the sky, tree branches that wave in the wind, etc.

This connection may move you to a place of meditation. It may move you to prayer. Reflect on the things that come to mind during this time. Redirect thoughts that center on productivity or your to do list (laundry, work, weeding the garden, etc.) and instead, allow your mind to focus on topics around nature (awe), people, your own journey or the world (social justice).

Acknowledge all the relationships that exist in this space.
Acknowledge the connectedness of the atmosphere- every person on this planet looks at the same sun, moon and starts that is protected by the same atmosphere. Clouds symbolize connectedness in the way they carry moisture from water (or rainforest) to land.
Acknowledge the present of light, whether it be sun, the stars, or the reflected light of the sun on the moon.

As you end this time spent under the sky, in your own sacred way, thank Creator for the extraordinary Creation that is all around you.
